Dr. Barbara Short brings decades of experience in education, social service and mental health settings serving children, youth and families from birth through adulthood, preschool through university. Dr. Short’s research includes the effects of multigenerational trauma and resilience, and collaborative learning in a 21st century context. In her roles as teacher, counselor, advisor, administrator, mental health therapist, and work in community organizations, Barbara advocates for equity, is motivated by the transformational power of education and holds high standards for student outcomes with the whole student in mind.
Dr. Short is committed to creating positive, powerful school environments that illuminate the brilliance of each student and provide them with the skills and encouragement to shine. Her goal is to provide support for the delivery of high quality experiences and outcomes for all students; positive engagement with families and community; and a climate of creativity, professional growth, and satisfaction for staff.
